Hidden Gems, Art and Beauty in Paris

November 9th – November 17th, 2026

Join artist and historian Katlin Kirker on a guided tour of Paris through the eyes of art, history, and culture.

Overview

Join me on a special adventure, exploring some of my favorite and not so touristy hidden gems in the city of lights. Paris is rich in history, art, and culture. We’ll experience some incredible lesser-known museums and venture through hidden covered passages exploring unique shops and boutiques. Paris has its finger on the pulse and heartbeat of art and culture in Europe. We’ll attend some current new and exciting exhibitions.

November offers a cozy atmosphere with cooler, rainy weather (40s – 50s), fewer tourists, and the early arrival of holiday lights.

Exploring Paris can be overwhelming, I will specifically curate each days events, so that you will get the most out of your stay in Paris. Scheduling and buying tickets to museums and special exhibitions, as well as making all necessary reservations.

You will be gifted with your own personal journal / guide book so we can discuss and learn more about what we are seeing each day. (Plus it makes a beautiful keepsake of your trip.)

Let me take care of everything, so you can sit back and enjoy the ride.

Dream with me, and let’s go.

Sample Itinerary

Seven days / Seven nights at a four-star boutique hotel in the Marais.

Day 1: Bonjour Paris

Travel day from the US to Paris.

Day 2: Arrive in Paris

A van or Taxi will pick you up at Charles de Gaulle airport and take you to your boutique hotel where you’ll check in.
After checking in, we’ll all meet up in the lovely hotel lounge and get acquainted.
I’ll then give you your personal journals and do a quick review of the weeks itinerary.
Then we’ll head out for a little tour around the neighborhood and get familiar with the Marais, enjoy a late lunch of delicious crêpes, before leisurely strolling back to the hotel, stopping in some of my favorite boutiques and shops along the way. Back at the hotel, we’ll settle into our rooms for an early night of rest and relaxation.

Day 3:

After a lovely breakfast at the hotel we’ll head out, walking over to the 1st arrondissement.
On the way, we’ll explore two of my favorite covered passages.
We’ll then walk through the Tuileries Gardens to the Place de la Concorde. Nearby we’ll visit a museum, that with its opulence will transport you to Versailles without ever leaving Paris.
From there, we’ll have a delicious soufflé for lunch. After lunch, we’ll head over to Plaza de la Madeleine where I’ll share some of my favorite specialty shops.
As we head back to the hotel, we’ll walk through the spectacular Palais Royal gardens, continuing to explore some of my favorite hidden gems.

Day 4:

Today is a day of fashion.
We’ll head over to the 8th Arrondissement and get acquainted with one of Paris‘s most famous fashion icons. Where fashion is truly transformed into art.
Then we’ll have a glamorous lunch at one of my favorite oh so chic restaurants, with delicious food and wonderful people watching.
After lunch, we’ll enjoy a current exhibition at Paris‘s fabulous fashion museum.

Day 5:

Today is the day to explore hidden gems in the Marais and medieval beauty in the Latin Quarter.
There are treasures at every turn in the Marais. We’ll spend the day exploring and discovering amazing small quirky museums, seeing unusual architecture and discovering fun boutiques and shops. We’ll top it off with a visit to a spectacular Art Nouveau shopping center.

Day 6:

Today we’ll experience another part of Paris the 9th Arrondissement.
We’ll explore a magical and exotic covered passage, with its colorful and unique shops. Then we’ll head over to one of my favorite small museums. This apartment/museum was the home of a renowned Parisian artist from the 1800s. It houses an outstanding collection of a master symbolist painter. You’ll experience the artists multi faceted world of historical mystery, while being enveloped in its electric decor and show stopping spiral staircase.

Day 7:

Today we’ll get acquainted with the architect Baron Houssmann (1809-1891).
He transformed the city of Paris in 1853 through 1870 under King Napoleon III.
We’ll stroll down Haussmann boulevard, taking in some of the architecture that so visually defines Paris as one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
We’ll go on to explore a sumptuous 19th century mansion and discover a husband and wives passion for collecting art that showcases Masterpieces by Dutch and Flemish artists, as well as 18th century French and Italian Renaissance painters.
Then have lunch in a beautiful old world Cafe.
After lunch we’ll fill our senses with the perfume of one of the oldest perfumeries in Paris.
As we make our way back to the hotel we’ll stop at one of Paris‘s most grand and majestic libraries.

Day 8:

Today I have left as a free day. A day filled with whatever you want. Wandering around the Marais, going back to a favorite boutique or neighborhood. Or going to someplace you feel like you missed. Leaving us with plenty of time to get organized for our trip home.

*Please note Itinerary is subject to change.

Arriving and Departing Paris

Plan to arrive in Paris before or the morning your tour begins. Most flights from US arrive in the morning at Charles DeGaulle airport. Please note it can take from 3 to 4 hours after your flight arrives to get to the hotel, depending on passport control lines and traffic. The tour begins around 11:00 to 12 o’clock on the first day you arrive in Paris so plan your flight arrival accordingly. The tour finishes on the Eighth day, plan your departure for that day. Taxis will be arranged to the airport for departure.

Travel Insurance

Please seek with your own provider.

International Phone Plan

Please consider planning your international phone plan ahead of time for the best value. (Daily international charges are expensive so it’s better to plan ahead!) Each phone provider has different plans and add on packages you can purchase, ranging from daily to monthly usage. Another convenient option is to download an e-sim in the App Store (such as Airlo or Holafly) which will allow you to purchase, use, and reload international data as necessary. Lastly, you can always purchase a physical Sim card at the airport or local shops.

Rates & Currency

Rates are quoted in USD and are based on current exchange rates. All rates are quoted per person. Please be prepared to pay in euros for food and all other costs while we are on the trip. I recommend using a card that allows international transaction without extra fees or taking out cash at an ATM (You can do this once we arrive).

Payment Method

Payments can be made by check to Katlin Kirker or venmo. Specific payment preference will be confirmed upon booking.

Physical Requirements

Transportation will rely primarily on walking with the occasional taxi to get around the city; therefore, you can expect to walk several miles a day and encounter lots of stairs. Please consider this and let me know if you will need any additional accommodations.

Passports

Passports are required for US citizens. Visit www.travel.state.gov for the U.S. State Department for more details.
