“Just to travel is rather boring, but to travel with a purpose is educational and exciting." - Sargent Shriver

Meet Your Guide: Katlin Kirker

Katlin Kirker is a passionate artist and traveler.

Katlin’s creative imagery was inspired by the ever-changing seasonal colors and textures of Vermont, where she was born and spent her childhood on a dairy farm. Her family later moved to Northern New Jersey, where Katlin attended Ridgewood School of Art and design, followed by a move to New York City, where she studied at Parsons School of Design.

After a couple of years living and working as an assistant art Director for a magazine in New York City Katlin headed for Los Angeles where she became a full-time artist showing her work in numerous galleries.

For the last 20 years she has been working and traveling extensively throughout Europe studying art and art history.
Katlin now spends her time in St. George, Utah where she’s inspired this time by the brilliance of the high desert red rock mountains.

“My travel experiences have been educational, exhilarating, empowering, and transformational. Travel has gifted me with memories that I will cherish for a lifetime.
I have been obsessed with Paris for years and continue to dive deeper into its amazingly rich culture, art and history. You never really leave Paris. It just waits for you.”

“Katlin’s knowledge of Paris made walking the streets of this city with her a joy and rare experience! A museum visit paired with lunch at a favorite soufflé restaurant nearby – tucked away on a side street – is a place I would never have discovered on my own. Bakeries, cafés, and specialty shops abound and can feel overwhelming to choose which to enter. A few days into our trip, I felt comfortable and confident, wandering the cobblestone streets of this magnificent city, as if I belonged. Thank you, Katlin, for leading the way, sharing your enthusiasm, and encouraging me to explore the shops and galleries calling to me. It was a glorious trip that I will always treasure!” ~Lori Damon
